In My Mailbox #28

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren which allows us to share the books we’ve bought, borrowed and received.

I haven't done an IMM post in about 3 weeks, and there's quite a lot I've got in that time, most of which I am so happy with. Especially since HarperCollins added some new eGalleys on Edelweiss a few days ago!

(these are just the print copies)

Bought

Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I have these and have read them already of course, but I need paperbacks for all my JLA books! So I finally got paperbacks of these two to join the rest of their series. The entire Covenant series looks so pretty on my bookshelf now :)

For Review

ARC of The Dividing Line by Victoria H. Smith
Defy by Sara B. Larson^
Paranoia by J.R. Johansson^
Afterparty by Ann Redisch Stampler*
Meridian by Josin L. McQuein*
Rebel by Amy Tintera*
Wild by Alex Mallory*
Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy*
The Art of Lainey by Paula Stokes*

^ARCs from NetGalley (thanks Scholastic Press and Flux!)
*ARCs from Edelweiss (thanks Simon & Schuster and HarperCollins!)

Out of these I've already read The Dividing Line, Defy, and Afterparty. Sadly the only one I actually liked from those was The Dividing Line, which was great. The other two.. not so much. You can read my review of Defy here, to see what I thought of it.

I am so excited about the others up there! I loved Insomnia by J.R. Johansson, so when I saw Paranoia of course I had to get it. And omg Meridian! Arclight was one of my favourite 2013 dystopians and I'm dying to read this sequel. I haven't read Reboot by Amy Tintera yet, but I'll get to that soon so I can read Rebel. Also, I'd never heard of Wild before I saw it on Edelweiss, but a Tarzan retelling? It sounds awesome, and I hope I'll love it. I just went back to Edelweiss and downloaded Side Effects May Vary and The Art of Lainey, because I realized they sound pretty awesome and I'd love to read them.

Won

Skulk by Rosie Best
The Holders by Juliana Scott
The Woken Gods by Gwenda Bond
Cracked by Eliza Crewe
Playing Tyler by T.L. Costa

I won these from Dianne at Oops! I Read A Book Again. Thanks so much, Dianne! And thanks to Strange Chemistry for sending these books to me :) I've heard of a couple of these and I can't wait to get started. It may be a while before I get to read them, but I hope it won't be too far away.

Gifted

Delirium by Lauren Oliver
The Diviners by Libba Bray
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

I don't know if I'd say these were gifted to me exactly, but basically a friend of mine needs to give away most of her books, and I got first priority along with another friend. So these are the three I picked, out of the books she owns. I've already read Delirium, of course, but I wanted to own a physical copy. And I haven't read The Diviners or My Life Next Door but I've heard so much about both, so I'm deciding to give them a try.

Received from authors

I got this lovely Courtlight series swag from Terah Edun - thank you so much, Terah! The covers are so beautiful and the swag definitely is. Plus, all of it is signed! She's given me loads so that I can give away some, so I'm adding some of this to the swag giveaway pile I've kept aside, for a bit later.

I also got this beautiful Maid of Secrets swag from Jennifer McGowan! The sneak peek booklets are all signed, and aren't those pins and bookmark charms so pretty? Jennifer even sent me a lovely card. Thanks so much for all of this, Jenn! I'll be adding some of this to a giveaway pile as well :)

So that's what I got in the past three weeks. Love all of it. So many books! And I can't wait to read them. Though they will have to wait.. My IB mock exams begin on Monday (GASP!) so I won't be around much. I have posts scheduled on the blog throughout the two weeks of exams, but I won't be on Twitter and stuff much. Hope exams go well, though, and then I can get back to reading!

What did you guys get this week? And what do you think of the books I got? Leave me a comment :)

  16. Meridian and Rebel are calling my attention, despite the fact that I haven't started either series! I have a tendency to get really excited about reading sequels to books I haven't read, for some reason. Oh, My Life Next Door is so good! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. :) Enjoy you books and good luck on your exams!
