If you play with fire…

Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.

Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.

Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

I've been waiting for this book ever since I finished A Little Too Much, and I have to say this is my favourite by far! There's so much more to it than what's in the blurb, and it's definitely going to be hard to avoid spoilers. A Little Too Hot definitely isn't a fluffy romantic NA. It's got action and suspense and some huge twists that I never saw coming!

I remember Sam from A Little Too Far - Lexie's best friend, the one who dated Trent when Lexie was in Rome. Well, this is set after that, when Sam's still upset over Trent and Lexie. She flunked out of college and was thrown out by her parents, and ends up taking a job as a dancer in a club to pay rent. And then she meets Harrison, who is the most striking and gorgeous guy she's ever seen. They have an instant connection, but when Sam realizes he's not who she thinks he is, things get really messy.

Sam's been through a lot since the events in A Little Too Far, and I was surprised to see how screwed up her life had become. But Sam's really strong, and it was great to see how she soldiered through everything in this book. I mean yeah, she's overwhelmed quite a bit at some points, but who wouldn't be? The situation she's in.. I wish I could say more but that would be giving away too much.

Harrison... Okay, tiny spoiler warning! I'm sorry but I can't call him that, it's not his real name and I just don't like the name Harrison. His name is Blake, which is a lot better. And I loved Blake! Though he's hiding a lot of secrets and I did dislike him at first when we find out what they are, I slowly began loving him as the novel progressed. The fact that Lisa makes us love this guy even though you'd automatically dislike him for dragging Sam into a dangerous situation shows how well-written his character is. He's got his own personal demons too, but he's incredibly strong as well. And I loved how protective he is of Sam. It's his duty, but also his desire, and it's no surprise that Sam always feels safe with him. Plus, Blake can cook. Really well. And that's pretty damn awesome.

Again, there's so much I can't say without giving away anything, but this is definitely different from most NAs I've read. I loved the plot, and where Lisa took the novel. Also, we get to see a glimpse of Lexie, Trent, Alessandro and Hilary! I loved that - all six main characters in the same place. If you've read the previous books, you can guess what this circumstance is.

This book will keep your eyes glued to the pages until you're finished with it. There's just so much suspense throughout, and combined with the ever-present sexual tension between Sam and Blake, it's amazing. I loved every second of reading this novel, and it's something I can read over and over again without getting sick of it. A Little Too Hot is one 2014 NA you really can't miss!
